Health testing that goes above and beyond!

At Frosty Hill, the health and well-being of our dogs—and your future puppy—are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we commit to rigorous health testing that exceeds the standards for responsible breeding.

All of our parent dogs undergo:

• PennHIP Testing – To evaluate hip joint health and screen for early signs of hip dysplasia with one of the most accurate methods available.
   
• OFA Hips & Elbows – Certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals to ensure strong joint structure and minimize the risk of hereditary conditions.
   
• Comprehensive Genetic Panels – Run through industry-leading labs to screen for a wide range of inherited diseases common to our breeds, helping us make informed and responsible breeding decisions.
   
• Eye Exams (CAER Certified) – Performed by board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists to confirm healthy, clear eyes free from congenital defects.
   
• Cardiac Testing – To ensure every dog in our program has a healthy heart and passes all relevant cardiac clearances.

We understand that bringing home a new puppy is a big investment, and we’re often asked why our puppies are priced at $3,200 (plus PA sales tax). The answer is simple: because we do things the right way.

Responsible, ethical breeding—done with care, intention, and integrity—is costly. We invest heavily in extensive health testing for all of our parent dogs to ensure they come from the best genetic lines. This helps us provide you with a healthy, well-adjusted puppy that’s a perfect fit for your family and lifestyle.

Our puppies are raised in our home as part of our family, not in kennels or outbuildings. We give them round-the-clock care, introduce them to everyday sights and sounds, and help nurture their temperament and confidence from the start.

At Frosty Hill, we take great care in guiding families through the puppy-picking process and keeping them connected every step of the way.

When you reserve a puppy from one of our litters, you’ll receive regular updates, including photos, videos, and important milestones as your puppy grows. Around 6-7 weeks of age, we complete temperament testing on each puppy to help match their personalities with the lifestyle and needs of each family. Puppy picks are done after temperament evaluations are complete and in the order deposits are received. We’re happy to schedule Zoom or FaceTime meetings during this time so you can get to know the puppies virtually and feel confident in your match.

We know how exciting it is to meet the puppies, and while we’d love to welcome every family into our home, the health and safety of our puppies must always come first. For that reason, we do not allow in-person visits.

Young puppies have developing immune systems and are especially vulnerable to contagious and potentially deadly diseases like parvovirus, which can be unknowingly carried on shoes or clothing—even from a quick stop at a pet store or public park.

Because our puppies are raised right inside our home, close to our family, it’s essential that we keep their environment clean, safe, and controlled. This policy allows us to protect every puppy and ensure we’re sending home the healthiest companions possible.

 Our puppies are ready to go to their forever homes at 8 weeks of age. By this time, they’ve had plenty of time to nurse, socialize, and grow under our care—developing strong foundations through daily handling, age-appropriate enrichment, and lots of love.

We never rush this process, as those first 8 weeks are crucial for healthy development, confidence building, and learning how to be part of a family. Rest assured, when your puppy comes home, they’ll be well on their way to becoming a happy, well-adjusted companion! 

 We proudly serve families throughout Pennsylvania, New York (including Long Island), New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and the surrounding East Coast region.

For your convenience, we also offer nationwide delivery—your puppy can be safely flown or delivered anywhere in the United States to ensure a comfortable and smooth transition to your home.
